The Building Association will meet, at the Temple, at nine a.m. on Saturday, April 9 2016. All Directors should attend, if possible; the Heads of Bodies, and any other interested persons will also be welcome.
The Project Leader for this huge and important effort is Ill. Bro. Don Helberg, whose efforts are greatly appreciated.
We also want to thank two groups of electricians for their hard work on the kitchen project this year. First, Brother Robbie Goodlander and his helper, Joe Harvy, who replaced, with one new and larger box, the two very old breaker boxes that had served the kitchen since 1951. The old boxes were in the back of the table storage closets, and very difficult to reach; the new box is in the passageway between the kitchen and dining room, and very accessible. This was a wonderful change for anyone who has ever had to turn on or off the breaker for the kitchen ceiling exhaust fan, not to mention that it also remedied a code problem. This job was not just a matter of mounting a new box mount, but of installing a lot of conduit and adding many feet of wire, large and small. This was a very long day for Robbie and Joe!
Next, we also want to thank Brother Joe Behounek and his crew who ran 220 volt, 3 phase, 60 amp power from the new box, up and through the attic, and down the wall to the new dishwasher. This required a lot of conduit and heavy wire to be installed, accomplished by a lot of climbing, crawling, and swinging on girders and ladders. It took the six guys a very long day of hard work to get it all done.

Thank you for all of your hard work.
1: Efforts to improve the telephone and data line was undertaken by Steve Balke and his daughter, Tom Goodgame, and Roy McConkey. They completed the routing of new wires from the phone access point above the kitchen to the office. This was not any easy task. The new phone set in the office now has much improved performance. A great deal of effort and donated material went into this project.
2: The boilers received a preliminary inspection, headed up by Brian Ostrom. The three master plumbers who reviewed the system were very impressed by the good condition of the equipment and the boiler room, but they identified several things that will have to be corrected before we can pass a real inspection.
3: Proper floor drains were installed at the three sinks in the kitchen. The drains were placed in the floor after some major concrete removal. The new drains provide the required “air gap” between the drain and sink drain pipe.
4: New speakers have been procured for the theater. They will be installed in time for the Reunion.
5: A stand was made to support the large photograph of the main curtain and picture. It can be place anywhere in the building we like.
6: Luke Jacobs has been our main Docent, and always comes when called on to help. His untiring commitment to the Temple and to Scottish Rite is very much appreciated.
7: Light bulbs in the theater are being replaced as needed. The bulbs have a 70-hour life and, with the usage they are getting, they tend to burn out often. Replacement bulbs have been obtained and are available when needed.
8: A defective relay in the stage light panel cabinet in the boiler room was troubleshooted by James and Dan Irick. The relay had some damage to it, and the contacts were not making contact. A copper connecting wire was broken. The relay arm was removed and repaired; it will be re-installed soon. There was a work-around method utilized that allowed full use of the lighting while repairs are being made. The experience earned by this work will allow future relay failures to be prevented.
