The Starfish

A boy and his grandfather were walking along a beach strewn with starfish. As the boy picked one up and threw it back into the ocean his grandfather said, “Why are you doing that? There are thousands of starfish here. Throwing them back won’t make any difference.”

As the boy bent over, picked another up and tossed it back into the sea he said, “It will to this one.”

So it is with support for our foundations. Every little bit helps--and we definitely need help! Some of our members have stepped up in a large way, others have stepped up in a smaller way, and some have yet to make that important donation. This message is for all.

Just as with our personal finances, our foundations suffer during economic downturns. Our investments have been hit hard, our members are donating in fewer numbers, those who make donations are doing so in smaller amounts.

While we are cutting back on expenditures, the cost of necessities still exceeds our income by a significant margin. We are in serious danger of being in a position of not being able to take in new students for our Learning Centers. Badly needed repairs and upgrades for our building and degree equipment will be postponed or cancelled. Consequently, we need your help more now than ever.

Won’t you throw a starfish back into the ocean? It will make a difference.

Remember, no gift is too small. And, they are all tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

Thank You!
