The Order of the Thistle

Valley of Santa Fe Order of the ThistleChartered in 1998, the Order of the Thistle of the Knights of St. Andrew has already become a very active organization. Any Scottish Rite Freemason of the 32° or higher may become a member. You can recognize members by their distinctive Scottish balmoral caps, with the color of the hackle/feather to indicate 32° (blue), KCCH (red) or 33° (white).

The Order of the Thistle is dedicated to the preservation of our beautiful Temple. Its members hold workdays to make repairs on the building, the stage sets and wherever else they are needed. They organize fund-raising and educational activities and act as docents or guides when public functions are held in the building.

Candidates who complete the 32nd Degree will immediately be eligible to join the Order of the Thistle. Dues are currently $25.00 annually. There is also an initiation fee, which will cover the cost of the Balmoral cap, hackle and a name-tag to be worn at Temple functions.

The Order of the Thistle has also established a pipe band, which meets at 6:30 PM each Tuesday at the Temple. These meetings include instruction for bagpipers and drummers. Membership in the pipe band is also open to non-Masons, both men and women. Dues are only $20.00 per year.
